The 2021 Nationals are coming to Great Lakes Dragaway in Racine, Wisconsin!
Here are some of the things that are currently in the works. First off we will be staying at the Delta Hotels Marriot in Racine. We have a large parking lot available for the show field and directly across the street is the local high school parking lot which has been made available to us to use for all our trucks and trailers. This location keeps everything super close and convenient. Security will be provided for both the show field and the trailer parking. The hotel has many amenities for the club such as on-site restaurant, bar, swimming pool and fitness center.
Wisconsin is known for beer, brats & cheese. There are plenty of options to satisfy your thirst with local craft beers as well as our own Miller Brewing, Pabst Brewing and Sprecher Brewing Companies. There are plenty of restaurants located very close to the hotel that offer these amazing foods and drinks.
The Racine area has many activities to offer during your stay for the weekend or even if you are looking to extend your vacation. Being located on the shores of Lake Michigan there are many fishing charters available out of the Reefpoint Marina for the fishermen in the club. There is also Canoe/Kayaking in the local rivers, inland lakes or even Lake Michigan. Bike trails offer miles of beauty for all the adventurous folks in the club who want to experience Wisconsin’s amazing outdoors.
For any farmers in the group, you can take the time to tour the Case IH Experience Center. The big red Case IH tractors were founded right here in Racine and tours are available to watch the manufacturing process. There is also lots of local shopping available along with many different art museums, you can even relax and enjoy the beach on the shore of Lake Michigan. This should give you plenty of things to fill your days.
Great Lakes Dragaway will be a great day of racing on Friday! The track is only a 20 minute cruise through the back country roads from our hotel. The H/OCA will have the track to ourselves all afternoon. The gates will open to the public and other racers from 5pm-10pm. We will then have the choice to stay and continue racing or just sit back and watch a night of drags, all while taking in the smells of burning rubber and racing fuel.
Stay tuned for more information in the upcoming newsletters, and if you have any questions regarding things to do while visiting or anything happening during the meet please feel free to call DeeDee and me!
Hope to see you at the 2021 Nationals!!!
